Eagles Beat Chiefs 40–22: A New scorebug, an Iconic Photo, and a Surprise from Stitch

The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, putting an end to the Chiefs’ hopes of a third straight title. While the game had its share of big plays, some of the most talked-about moments happened off the field. Fox Sports’ new scorebug didn’t sit well with many of us—it felt too big and distracting. A photo of Jalen Hurts standing in the light, surrounded by confetti, captured the emotion of the night better than any standard celebration shot. And then there was Disney’s Lilo & Stitch ad, which dropped Stitch right into the action with CGI, making for an unexpected but fun addition to the night.
We had plenty to say about it all—some things worked, some didn’t—but there was no shortage of moments to take in. Let’s dive in 👇
Scorebug
The Super Bowl often serves as a testing ground for networks to unveil their updated scorebug—the graphic displaying the score and game details.
During Super Bowl LIX, where the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, Fox Sports introduced its latest design. Instead of excitement, the new look drew criticism. Viewers found it too big, visually distracting, and stripped down to the point of being unpolished.
Many even said it resembled the basic graphics used in local high school broadcasts with some calling it the worst of all time.

That Jalen Hurts Photo
One of the best photos from the night comes from Chandan Khanna of AFP, offering a different view of the post-game celebrations. The image captures Jalen Hurts illuminated by the stadium lights, surrounded by the crowd and falling confetti. Rather than a standard celebration shot, this one focuses on the atmosphere and emotion, making it feel like a moment frozen in time. The composition and timing make it one of the most striking images of the night.

Lilo & Stitch advert
During the 2025 Super Bowl, Disney released a new Lilo & Stitch ad, featuring Stitch causing trouble on the football field. Using CGI, the ad blends him into the game as he dodges tackles, races across the turf, and crashes into the end zone. The clip ties into the Super Bowl setting naturally, making for a fun way to introduce the film while staying true to Stitch’s playful character.
